Sydney Schaefer is a photo editor based in Brooklyn, New York.
Currently, she works as a Photo Editor at The Associated Press in New York City. She was previously the Assistant Managing Editor at the Watertown Daily Times in upstate New York's North Country region. At 24 years old, she was the first woman and youngest person ever to hold the position in the newspaper's 160-year history.
A graduate of Temple University's Klein College of Media and Communication in Philadelphia, Sydney began her career in Watertown, N.Y., as a staff photographer at the Times. She spent three years at the newspaper before relocating to New York City.
